April 2014 Beauty Army Review

My second month of my three-month subscription to Beauty Army came a while back, but as I've stated, I'm a little behind. Better late than never though, right?

It's stupid how excited I was to see that this month's box was a different color. I used last month's box to contain all of my eyeshadow, and I'll have to find a similarly suitable use for this month's.

My first sample was this Laneige BB Cushion. I don't remember selecting it, but I must have. Anyway, it's a good-sized sample, and came with a cushion each of light, medium, and dark skin tones. I'm sure I'll never need the dark, but I'll have to try the medium out on a sunnier day, to see how it does as a sunscreen.

After trying (and failing) to get this in my box last month, I was really looking forward to this palette sample.

They go on a little bit faint, but I love these colors!

I thought this was a face mask, but it's for hair! My hair isn't really damaged that I know of, so I may pass this along. Or I might try it just for kicks and giggles.

If I remember to take this to work, I will pop it in a water, but I usually forget.

This sample seems incredibly tiny, but I guess you don't need much. I would like to control my acne, yes please...

Mighty Leaf teas are good! I got some in my Conscious Box last month too, and loved it.

I was happy with the palette, but I'm not sure I picked the best samples this month. I liked everything, but they don't seem to add up to much value. I don't know.

What do you think? Gotten any super cool samples in a Beauty Army box?

April 2014 Glossybox Review

Hello again! I'm determined to get caught up on these reviews! So let's dive into the April Glossybox

Of course here's the shipping box.

Here's the classic pink box that they always use.

And the big reveal! I was excited to open this box because I LOVE Ciaté nail polish and in this month's Glossybox you got a spring Ciaté Paint Pot color and I couldn't wait to see what my mom got! So naturally that was the first thing I snatched!

Look how pretty!!!! I love the adorable little bow! This color is called Kaftan, and it is a beautiful golden yellow! I can't wait to steal it from her! The Paint Pot is specially designed to fit easier in your hands and make it easier to hold on to.  This bottle retails for about $15.

This is Caldrea body wash. I couldn't find too much information on this body wash so I'm just gonna say it's body wash and it smells good! An 11.5 ounce bottle retails for $18.

Next is Bellápierre Vanilla Pink Super Gloss. This lipgloss is made with a natural plumper so it makes your lips look plump and full! This lip gloss retails for $25 a tube.

This is L.A. Splash Eyeshadow Sealer/Base. I was very jealous of this! You use this on your eyelid to help prevent creasing when you apply your eyeshadow. It also helps prevent smudges and helps keep makeup on for 12 hours. I would love to have this and will definitely be making a trip to the store to by this! It retails for $9 a bottle.

The last product is Aqua Spa Body Crème in relax. This smell wonderful, it's lavender and chamomile which helps relax your body. A 9 ounce bottle retails for $8.

So what did you guys think about this month Glossybox? My favorite product is the nail polish! Let us know what you guys think!

April 2014 Birchbox Review

Felicia (F.M.) already reviewed her mom's Birchbox, but luckily mine is almost completely different! So I can still share with you a review of my box this month!  Birchbox is $10 a month, and features a variety of beauty items.

I debated about whether or not to get a box, and I think that's why it ended up being so late in the month that I got mine. The last two have appeared a lot sooner!

Every box came with "bright ideas for a rainy day," and of course mine was to create a playlist! Totally, Birchbox, it's like you know me.

You know the drill. Breakfast.

The next thing I got was this Cynthia Rowley eyeliner, and it is niiiiice. My eyeliner that I've had for a few years is Rimmel, and although it's dark enough, it wears off pretty quickly (my eyes water for no reason). So I drew a line of this on my hand and not only is it dark, but it didn't wash off completely in the bath. Maybe that says something about my bathing standards, but I'm gonna hope it says more about the product.

The other thing that was in the little envelope was this cc cream by Supergoup! I'm really not an expert in face-type stuffs, but it seems to normalize my skin tone and add a faint color. Also, and my favorite part is, it's very lightweight and you can't really tell you're wearing it. The way foundation feels sticky and gross is what's been driving me away from foundations all my life. Well, that and the fact that I have relatively even skin and don't want to ruin it with cloggers (of pores, not the dancers).

This stuff was great. I was running bath water when I got my box because my hair looked too greasy, and after spraying this stuff on, I really could have pretended to be clean already. Baths are a good idea too though. I guess.

Haven't tried this yet. It's supposed to conquer blackheads and redness, but I'm not feeling poorly enough about myself to say which part of my face deserves this treatment.

I really liked this month's box! It's pretty much all stuff that will work for me in one way or the other. I really feel like this box was custom-tailored to me! So far, Birchbox is 2 for 3, and I've signed up for another month, so I'm curious to see how the score continues.

How did you like this month's Birchbox? Did you get anything cool in yours?

April 2014 "Free for All" Special Edition Birchbox Review

Emma (E.S.) is gonna have some fun catching up with my reviews after I get all these loaded up!! This is the special edition Birchbox! After shipping this box was around $50. The regular Birchbox subscription is $10 a month with free shipping. This special box theme was Free For All, which means all products are ingredient conscious!

Here's the box, it's different from their usual brown box.

Here's the first look when you open the box up.

Here's the card explaining that this box has products that are all naturally and free from parabens, GMO's and everything bad for you!

The first product is Shave With Benifits in mint and eucalyptus which is shaving cream (of course!) This cream helps with razor burn and red bumps and is perfect for people with sensitive skin! For a 5 ounce bottle this is around $19.

Next is Karma Naturals nail polish remover, this stuff smells so good!! I hate the way nail polish remover smells, it's so harsh and makes everything smell!! For a 4 ounce bottle this is $12.

This is such a cute little box! It's eyeliner by W3ll People, it's an actuall pencil rather than a gel, (which is what I prefer).

I love the back of the box, as well as saying their product is free from certain chemicals, they call them nasties, which I don't really know why but I think it's cute!!! This is about $19 a pencil.

Tea is something that I think I get in 95% of my subscription boxes and I'm totally ok with that! This tea is Lov Organic tea, you get 4 different tea bags in this box, Lov is Beautiful, Lov is Zen, Lov is Pure and Lov is Good. Lov is beautiful is a blend of green tea, white tea and rooibos with mango, apricot and pineapple (yummy!) Lov is Zen is rooibos, lemon, apple pieces, blackberry leaves, and orange and caramel flavors, Lov is Good is aniseed, fennel, liquorice, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, pepper and cloves, Lov is Pure is green tea, apples, green mate, and natural citrus flavors. Lov is Good is the only flavor that I wouldn't think I'd enjoy drinking. This tea comes in a 4 ounce metal tin for about $17.

This is radiance serum by Jurlique. This serum does all kinds of great stuff for your skin! It helps reduce redness and dark spots, and makes your skin firm. For a 1 ounce bottle of Jurlique it is $58.

This is Alima Pure lip tint. My mom really likes this, she said it's very soft. The color is rhubarb and it is $12 a bottle.

And of course the most important thing is the makeup bag!! It is a burlap make up bag with FEED on it, I really like that they donated 10 school meals with the purchase of this special box!!

This is such a cool box! It's nice to try out products that you wouldn't go out and buy, I love samples!

How did you guys like this special Birchbox? Let us know!

April 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag Review "Beauty Rocks!"

It's Ipsy time again!! I was so sad when I came home today and didn't see a pink bag on my porch but the mailman surprised me later by bringing it by! Yay!!

Of course it comes in the bright pink shipping bag! I've been waiting for my new Ipsy bag for way too long it seems, as soon as they said the theme for this month was "Beauty Rocks" I counted down the days until it would show up at my door!

This is by far my favorite makeup bag! It was love at first sight, and I couldn't wait to open it.

The first thing I pulled out was this tinted lip balm by Cailyn. This is such an interesting bottle! The lip brush is the top of the bottle so there are no worries about losing the brush! I got the color "apple pink," and this bottle runs for $19.

You all know I love primer, and I guess Ipsy knows it too! This primer has the added bonus of acne treatment, I switched my face wash which was a bad idea because it broke me out more, so hopefully this primer will help me out! I really like this primer because it is clear and not a cream color like every other primer I own, and it's super soft! I found the .5 ounce bottle for $16.

Yay! Two favorite things in one bag?? I love Ipsy more and more with every bag I get!

This is Pop! Goes the Shadow by Elizabeth Mott in Champagne. It's in a cute little container that makes it easy to carry around for touch ups if needed. This isn't really my color but I like using colors like this for the corners of my eyes so I'm sure it will get used!

I'm not too excited about this product because I don't usually do anything with my hair (which it wouldn't hurt me to change that!) This is Big Sexy Hair root pump, you apply it to damp hair to add volume to it and protects hair from going flat! For a regular sized 10 ounce bottle it is around $18 a bottle.

Last but not least is 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil by Urban Decay.

Another thing I love is my eyeliner, I have about every color you can imagine. Luckily enough I'm almost out of my favorite liner, which is Scandaleyes by Rimmel, so I'll be happy to use this in the morning! I've always wanted some Urban Decay products and I'm happy that this starts my collection! The 24/7 eye pencil is $20.

I love my Ipsy bag this month!!! It is my favorite that I have received and I hope that it gets better as time goes on!

What did you guys get in your Ipsy Glam bag? I hope it was as good as mine!
