February 2014 KLUTCHclub Women's Box Review

Just recently got my first KLUTCHclub box. KLUTCHclub provides a box of healthy products each month for $18 ($10 plus $8 shipping). I received my first box for only the $8 shipping price.

It ships in a pretty handy little box, with a slide-out drawer. This box was particularly heavy, and I wasn't sure why yet, but I was excited to find out!

Even though I see people talk about these a lot, this was actually my first time trying Pop Chips. They're pretty good! Barbeque isn't my flavor of choice, but I didn't even mind it this time. For non-health reasons, I generally prefer baked chips to fried ones, but I think these are pretty much as good. They're made like puffed rice cakes, but with potato starch.

I got some of these in a Conscious Box a couple of months back. Even though they're really good, I still haven't used them all, but they're definitely something I like and want to use.

I thought this was the same as the Hemp Hearts, but it's a hemp-based protein powder. Some day, I should just mix all my nutrition powders together and make a gross/healthy drink mix. Or, yanno, use them like normal.

Tried this last night and I did have pretty restful sleep, but I'm gonna say it was probably coincidence. The flavor is nice, but I kind of wish it were carbonated.

More new teas! And these look like great flavors, too. Eh, they all look like good flavors! But these say "focused energy" on them, so maybe they'd be good for one of those days when I'm having issues concentrating.

This is a bottle cleaning tablet that will come in very handy at some point, but I'll surely try to use it as far away as possible, just in case of an emergency.

I got burnt by some baby food like this, but this one looks tasty, so I tried again. It tastes good, but still a little like baby food.

I like pomegranate, so I'm excited to try this shampoo. It smells really nice. My hair isn't super damaged, but hopefully it will still do something.

I'm sitting here rubbing my eye, thinking I don't have allergy symptoms much anymore...But in any case, I still might offer them to my dad, who usually gets allergies way worse than me.

I really want to try this, but I want to save it for a breakfast (or concert? It definitely looks marketed toward concert-goers).

Loca turns out to be a pretty good ginger ale, but it tastes a little like the artificial sweeteners I know it doesn't contain. Really not bad though.

Coupons! I'll almost certainly use the Pop Chips one.

KLUTCHclub is a pretty cool box! It definitely seems worth the price. It contained quite a few items I've never heard of, and a nice mix of samples and full-size products. The shipping price is definitely accurate, with a couple of drinks in the box! I've unsubscribed for now, but I would totally do this box again in the future.

February 2014 Glossybox Review

Hey guys, Wow am I behind on my reviews or what?! This is actually my mom's subscription box so she kindly let me use it for a review. She has had this box for over a year so obviously it has some good products in it.  So with her help, here's the review!

Glossybox is a monthly make-up subscription box that is $21.00 a month with free shipping. Every month you get 5-6 luxury beauty products, the only reason why I have not subscribed to this box is because whatever my mom won't use I get! Re-gifting is one of the best things about subscription boxes because you won't always get products that you love. Let's dive in!

When you open up the pretty pale pink box here's what you see, my mom said that usually the ribbon isn't just pushed to the side so try to ignore that! It's always a light pink ribbon and wrapped in black tissue paper.

This was the first product that I grabbed because I was excited to see another POP beauty product, I tried to find the price of this for you guys but I couldn't find it anywhere!

If you have read my IPSY glam bag review, you know that I received a POP beauty lip gloss last month. When I opened this up the first thing I did was smell it, because the last POP product I got had a odd smell to it and I was happy to find it has no smell! This color is Melted Peach, which is a good name for it because it is a very light color, light enough that most people might have to wear some color under it. Another big thing for me with lip products is if it's sticky or not and again I was happy to find that it's not!











 The next product I saw was this, and I must say that they got me the with the name, it's just perfect!














These look pretty cool, i'll have to beg my mom to let me borrow one just so I can see how it works! These run about $12 for three patches.

















So no matter how I moved this or how many pictures I took of it I just couldn't get it right! This is eyeliner by Sumita, and I'm sure i'll be seeing this in the next present I get from my mom because she doesn't use eyeliner and she knows that I use way too much! Eyeliner is my second favorite makeup product behind eye shadow so I can't wait to try it! This runs about $15.00.










This is a very pretty pale pink nail polish by Lauren B Beauty, called City of Angels. As I was looking up this polish I found that I couldn't stop looking! All the nail colors are named after the beautiful L.A, so it was fun to look through all the colors! This color is very light for me so I can't wait to order some colors that I can show off! This bottle runs $18.00 a bottle.
                                                                     

The last product is hair beautifier for color-treated hair by Pureology. This is for all hair types and can be sprayed on before styling to help with managing your hair and help with the shine. This product runs $24.00 for a 6 ounce bottle. I don't have much to say about this because neither me or my mom has used it but I have read some good reviews about it!

February 2014 Vegan Conscious Box Review

I recently got my very first Conscious Box, and so I figured I'd do a little review of it.

Conscious Box is regularly $19.95 with free shipping, but I found a coupon code somewhere, which made it $9.95. Since I'm a non-egg vegetarian and always trying to make choices that create the least amount of animal suffering, I chose to go with the "vegan" box, but they also have regular and gluten-free boxes.

Conscious Box ships in very cute inner and outer boxes (When asked if this is really conscious, they explain that it's to ensure the safety of the items. Plus they use veggie ink and recycled paper.). I ordered February 8th and received my box February 26th. I don't know if that's a typical wait time, or if I missed the usual ship date, but I'm sure I'll find out soon enough, since I was just billed for my second month.

First and first and a half-th look.

This box has a lot of stuff in it, but almost all sample sizes this month.

One of the only full-sized products was this Farmer's Market organic pumpkin (retail value somewhere around $2.50?). I don't bake a whole lot, so I'm not sure what I'll do with it. I was thinking maybe soup, or there's a recipe on their website for chilli, pumpkin style, which I think could be interesting. The information sheet from Conscious box also suggests use in pancakes, oatmeal, and even lattes! I'm also not a coffee drinker though, so maybe cocoa?

The next product I pulled out confused me for a minute. While I still eat honey in my diet, I was confused as to why they would include honey in a vegan box, but upon actually looking at the item, it's Bee Free Honee! And to top that off, it's mint flavor. It was pretty good. I guess this company makes their honey with apples instead of using bees, but it tastes pretty much the same. It gets easier to be vegan every day! I might actually buy some of this if their website gave pricing or ordering info. The location search doesn't work either, but I might look for it at Whole Foods next time I go.

I haven't tried this Traditional Medicinal chamomile tea yet because (to be brutally honest) chamomile is my period tea. But considering I do enjoy tea, this will probably be a winner at some point.

Another sample size, and I'm probably glad about that. Even my dark chocolate-loving mother didn't like these, although they're starting to grow on me. I guess if you pretend they aren't really chocolate (which I guess they aren't), and act instead like they're nuts or something that taste like chocolate, you can get over how incredibly bitter they are.

I haven't tried the lavender eucalyptus yet, but the vanilla coconut is pretty nice, although I thought it smelled like cinnamon and my mom thought it smelled like cocoa butter, so I think there's a slightly "eh" nature to it actually smelling like what it's supposed to. It seems to moisturize pretty well though, but it does have that slightly gritty texture that natural lotions seem to have. Overall cool though, the second product in the box that I might actually buy.

This is something I definitely should need, given the amount of time I spend in front of the old internet-box. I'm not sure I'll end up using it though, because I'm having trouble understanding the difference between this and like...a normal eye drop that isn't individually packaged, but that comes in a big, handy bottle and can also be used as contact solution. But what do I know?

I've actually been curious about "natural" deodorant for a while now, but I'd probably prefer a stick deodorant sample. I can't think of too many uses for a "towelette," or at least not any that I would share more freely than my feelings on the Blossom Organic product.

Both looking forward to and fearing testing this product. I think I'll do it as my breakfast replacement some day when breakfast is looking like a scary monster to me, but until then, I must simply wonder what dose of veggies that taste like berries could possibly taste like in water.

I don't like the way this sample looks like a spam email, but I'm definitely prepared to try, especially with the whole "cherry scented" thing happening. Not that I'm worried about wrinkles, although I think that's the product's real endgame: to make me think about my mortality (I'm on to you, wrinkle cream).

Although it says you're free to enjoy these straight from the bag, I think that's a little too messy and time-consuming for me. They taste really good though, so I'm totally putting them on something. Once I do that, I'll determine whether or not they're a thing I should buy.

Protip: don't call them coupons when they're just pamphlets. This might make people upset, conscious box. It might make people...ANGRY. Nah, I'm fine, but you owe me for the shirt I destroyed when I turned green and got all buff for five minutes.

Overall, I was not super pleased with this box. The packaging is cool, and it has potential, but there was what, one full-sized product? I mean, come on, for twenty bucks, I should be getting at least a couple. And the samples had a lot of variety, but dang, they're still samples! I'm obviously going to get a slightly more diverse view of the boxes next month, but if that one fails me, I'm out! How has your experience with Conscious Box been? February 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Hey guys! It's time to do my first subscription box review and I hope you guys are as excited as I am!

I am going to review the February Ipsy Glam Bag. For only $10 a month (and shipping is FREE!), Ipsy will send you a personalized Glam Bag. Here's how it works; all you have to do is go to www.ipsy.com and take a beauty quiz. This quiz will ask you simple questions like "what color is your hair and eyes?" and "what kind of makeup do you like to use?" The quiz will help Ipsy send you products you will use and enjoy so if you don't like certain makeup styles they won't send you them! Personally I used my beauty quiz to receive products I normally wouldn't go out and buy, that's the main reason why I love this bag!! So let's get to my review!

 The first thing you see when you open the bright pink bag it's mailed in, is the makeup bag! I love makeup bags and I already have more than I know what to do with! My first impression of this months was that it was kinda plain but i liked the pink color, but when I opened it up I found that the inside was a pink leopard print and I fell in love with it!

The first thing I pulled out the bag was eyelashes and eyelash glue by J.cat. I don't normally wear false eyelashes but that could be because all the eyelashes I have are long and unnaturally colored (my favorite are these shiny rainbow lashes that I can't wear with my glasses because they are so long!). The next product I pulled out was a fresh start face mask. This is a blue clay face mask for stressed skin, it is a in-depth weekly detoxing, anti-dullness, and anti-aging ritual. I wasn't too excited about this product until i went to their website (www.skyniceland.com) and read about the product, now I cant wait to run a hot bath and have a spa day! This product is a $39.00 value for six .28 oz masks.

The next surprise was Be Matte Blush by City Color. It may not look it from my picture but this blush is so pink! I fell in love with this as soon as I saw it, I love the color and I love that it is a full sized product. City Color had a nice big selection of beauty supplies and it was all reasonably priced, this blush retails for $2.99 which for it's size isn't a bad price at all! City Color has a pearl blush, which is also $2.99, that I would LOVE to try and am planning on ordering as soon as I can! Here's the link so you guy can go check them out, www.citycolorbeauty.com.

Another full sized product is a nail polish by Zoya, I love nail polish! This polish is called Odette and it is a beautiful shade of purple, it dries quickly which is a plus for me, because if my polish doesn't dry quickly i'm prone to smudging it right off! I loved looking at other Zoya polish colors, all the colors had unique women names, which made looking at the colors interesting! This bottle runs for $9 (here's the link, www.zoya.com).

In the bottom of the bag, the last product is a lip gloss by Pop Beauty. The color is Fuchsia Freesia. Lip gloss and lipstick is something that I only wear on occasion and again I fell in love with this color and have been wearing it more often than I thought I would! This picture does not do justice to the pretty bright pink color, but I do have one negative comment about this lip gloss: it smells! When you open it up and put it on it has a odd smell to it that goes away as you wear it and it dries, the good thing is that it has no taste so you don't get to taste that odd smell! But all-in-all the couple minutes of the bad smell is worth bright pink color! This product runs $16.00 a bottle (here's the link, www.beauty.com).

So for all you get the Ipsy bag is so worth $10 a month! I love the excitement of trying new makeup, discovering new brands, and learning to love some beauty products you wouldn't go out and buy on your own. This was a perfect first bag for me, I love everything in it and I definitely don't regret subscribing to Ipsy! I will look forward to receiving this subscription every month, and telling you guys about it! It's almost time for a new Ipsy bag so as soon as I get it I'll start writing my review!
